The Competition

As well as showcasing some of the best amateur talent in the region, the Festival is primarily a competition. Each year we invite a GODA Adjudicator to preside over the Festival entries and judge them according to the following marking system:

Acting = 40 marks

Production = 35 marks

Stage Presentation = 15 marks

Dramatic Achievement = 10 marks

After each evening the Adjudicator will sum up that evening and deliver a public adjudication of the performances seen. This offers both the entering groups and audience alike the opportunity to gain insight and experience from an industry professional and obtain great constructive criticism.

The Awards

At the end of the week the Adjudicator will judge and compare all of the week's entries according to the above marking system and announce the winners of the following awards at the award ceremony that follows the final performance on the Saturday night.
